Pediatric Public Health Nurse
Vanessa Segovia is the founder of Healthy Outcomes for Children (HOFC), Registered Nursing, Professional Corporation. HOFC offers remote public health nurse case management services and medical/health content development. For over 15 years, she has served as a pediatric public health nurse working with families and clinicians to promote healthy outcomes for children and families. She has specialized in partnering with first-time mothers to ensure a healthy start for their children ages 0-2. Most recently, she led efforts to support early interventions for lead-poisoned children and advised healthcare providers to help mitigate lifelong adverse health effects.
Vanessa has also received training in nutrition and is certified as a Functional Nutrition Informed Professional (CFNIP). She believes that health is achieved through a holistic lens that includes lifestyle, diet, and nutrition. She has also earned a Master's degree in Creative Writing and has professional illustration skills with a specialty in children's picture books and comics.
Vanessa combines her professional and creative expertise to craft clear, engaging, and accurate health content. As a fluent Spanish speaker, her efforts to provide vital information promotes meaningful inclusion of diverse communities.
